Apart Ball: Greatest Show Ball 2023

Saturday 4th March 2023 became a fantastic day in the Apart Project's short history. The Greatest Show Ball 2023 saw an amazing night of entertainment, fun and fundraising as the project eventually smashed its overall fundraising target of £100,000 for Cancer Research UK. The previous grand total stood at £97,000 and the wonderful efforts of all involved and all our sponsors saw nearly £23,000 raised for the charity and took our overall total raised to around £120,000 for the cause.

The night kicked off with the brilliant Jessica Catherine breathing fire, walking on stilts, performing with hoops and eventually finishing off her performance with a wonderful aerialist display, whilst our friends at Coast & County Radio, part of the Yorkshire Coast Radio Network, interviewed guests and organisers alike. The guests enjoyed further entertainment from Michelle Lawson, who performed dance classics, power ballads, a rendition of the Apart song and songs from The Greatest Showman. A huge thank you to our friends at Parkdean Resorts for sponsoring the night's entertainment.

This year saw the addition of a video wall provided by AV Matrix which helped take the show to the next level and gave everyone the opportunity to see some great messages of support from the likes of Dermot O'Leary, Alison Hammond, Bradley Walsh, Vernon Kay, Sue Pollard and Sue Holderness to name but a few.

After a raffle and special draw the night's fundraising reached it's pinnacle with the Grand Auction. This year the auction was fabulously supported by the Pipe and Glass (South Dalton), Mark Schulman (Pink's Drummer), Scarborough Spa, The Salisbury Luxury Coastal Apartments, Sir Alan Ayckbourn, Fuller's, Cotswold Inns & Hotels, David & Angela Chalmers, Daniel Craig (aka James Bond!), Signature Bindings by Glenn Malkin, MovieMania Online, Cinema Poster Gallery, Cîroc, Diageo, Global Brands, Carl Meade, and the Palazzo Gattini (Matera, Italy). The auction raised a magnificent £13,520, whilst the raffle/draw raised around £3,445.

Here are the pictures from the historic night, thank you to everyone who made it possible and we hope you all had a fantastic night! Keep your eyes out for news of the next ball soon...
